APPIA Student Grants

The Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA) is offering a limited number of student grants to support student participation in EPIA 2026, taking place in Funchal.

Given the additional travel costs associated with attending the conference in Madeira, each grant will be awarded as a €250 discount on the EPIA 2026 registration fee. The grant will not be paid directly to the recipient.

Eligibility

Applicants must be students and must meet at least one of the following conditions:

• the applicant is a member of APPIA; or
• the applicant’s supervisor is a member of APPIA.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• are authors or co-authors of an accepted EPIA 2026 paper; and/or
• are participating in the EPIA 2026 Student Symposium.

Applicants are required to submit:

• their personal and academic details;
• the EasyChair ID of any accepted EPIA 2026 paper with which they are associated;
• a motivation letter in PDF format; and
• a recommendation letter from their supervisor in PDF format.

Applications must be submitted by July 24th, 2026.

Please ensure that all information is accurate and that the required documents are attached before submitting the form. Applicants will be informed of the outcome by July 27th, 2026.
